Day 10 of our 30 Days Wild Challenge is - Read a wild book. Find a book about wild creatures and read outside.
This afternoon we found the book “I wonder why Spiders Spin Webs and other questions about creepy crawlies” in our area and took it to the field to read.
We learnt that there is an insect called a Flower Mantis that hides within flowers waiting for poor insects to land on the flower and a Leaf Insect that hides from its enemies by disguising as a leaf! Of course, we had to look for them! Examining every and leaf and flower in the field.
