Baked Vegetable Pakora Recipe

Today our chef Raffa made delicious vegetable pakora's for the children to enjoy. We know how much they love them and wanted to share the recipe for you to enjoy them at home as well.

100g chickpea flour

1/2 teaspoon baking powder

1/2 teaspoon ground turmeric

1/2 teaspoon garam masala

1/2 teaspoon salt

1/2 teaspoon ground pepper

50ml water

250g cauliflower roughly chopped

50g spinach, chopped


1. Preheat the oven to 220c. Lightly grease a baking sheet or muffin tin with cooking oil.

2. In a large bowl whisk the flour, baking powder, turmeric, garam masala salt and pepper. Slowly whisk in the water, adding only enough to make a thick paste. You may need more than the amount in the ingredient list.

3. Add the chopped cauliflower and spinach to the batter mix thoroughly.

4. Drop tablespoonfuls of the mixture onto a baking sheet or muffin cups. Cook for 10 minutes, flip and cook for 7-10 minutes on the other side until golden.


They can be made fried, and you can substitute with frozen peas, aubergine, onions or grated carrots.
